Awards are presented each June to skaters involved in ice hockey, figure skating, and recreational skating.
Eligibility
- Open to high school seniors.
- Applicants must be residents of New England and active skaters at FMC-owned arenas.
- Scholarships cover participants in ice hockey, figure skating, and recreational skating.
Impact and History
Since its founding, FMC has granted more than $510,000 in educational scholarships to nearly 500 high school graduates seeking further education. The program is part of FMC’s ongoing investment in the communities it serves.
Selection Process
A review committee selects recipients. Decisions are based on a candidate’s academic record, participation in extracurricular and community activities, and demonstrated accomplishments and leadership on the ice.
Purpose and Commitment
The scholarship program reflects FMC’s mission to help young skaters reach their fullest potential both athletically and academically. FMC also aims to keep participation costs reasonable, deliver quality development-focused programs, and help ease the financial burden of higher education for promising student-athletes.
