NGA Foundation Scholarships

Introduction
The NGA Foundation is dedicated to promoting the independent grocery sector as a top career option for college students and to helping those who intend to work in the industry. Since 1990, NGA and its affiliates have awarded more than $1 million in scholarships to support the next generation of grocery leaders.
Eligibility and requirements
Scholarships are open to applicants who meet the following basic criteria:
- Are incoming college freshmen through graduate students enrolled at a U.S. college or university.
- Will be enrolled at the time the award is disbursed (Fall semester).
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
- Are majoring in areas that lead to careers in grocery, such as Business, Food Management, Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology, or related fields.
- Prior experience in the grocery industry is strongly preferred.
How to apply
To submit an application, follow these steps:
1. Create a candidate profile on the application portal.
2. Begin the application and provide demographic details plus responses to 3–4 personal statement essay prompts. You may save your progress and return later to edit before final submission.
3. Upload your official or unofficial academic transcript.
4. Upload any supporting documents you wish to include, such as letters of recommendation, certificates, awards, etc.
5. Review your materials, save, and submit the completed application.
