Mary Hill Davis Scholarship

Texas Baptists strongly support Christian-oriented higher education. One prominent expression of that commitment is the Mary Hill Davis Ethnic/Minority Scholarship Program, which awards grants to deserving and capable students from ethnic and minority backgrounds so they can pursue a Christian college education.
Funding and purpose
The scholarships are financed by the Mary Hill Davis Offering for Texas Missions, an annual collection organized by the Woman’s Missionary Union of Texas. The program’s goal is to encourage and assist Texas Baptist ethnic/minority students who plan to serve as future lay or vocational ministry leaders within Texas Baptist ethnic/minority congregations. These awards are intended for students working toward a bachelor’s degree at one of the following Texas Baptist institutions:

Impact
Inspired by Isaiah’s admonition, “Learn to do well,” the scholarship seeks to equip recipients for more effective service in Christ’s name.
Scholarship details
- Maximum award duration: two semesters.
- Full-time students (12 or more credit hours): $1,000 per semester.
- Part-time students (minimum of 6 credit hours): $500 per semester.
