Oscar Grant Foundation — College & Trade Scholarship Program
Overview
The Oscar Grant Foundation College and Trade Scholarship supports graduating high school seniors and young adults who plan to enroll in college or vocational training. The program awards financial aid, pairs recipients with mentors, and offers encouragement to students who exhibit strong academic commitment, a history of community service, and demonstrated personal development.
Who is eligible
- Graduating high school seniors and young adults seeking postsecondary education or vocational certification.
How to apply
Applicants must submit all of the following by the posted deadline:
- A fully completed application form
- A two-page personal essay outlining your goals, notable accomplishments, and how you intend to positively impact your community
- One letter of recommendation from a teacher, school counselor, or community leader
- Any additional supporting documents requested on the application
Selection process
Applications will be screened, and those meeting the initial qualifications will be invited to a panel interview conducted by the Oscar Grant Foundation Scholarship Committee. Scholarship recipients are expected to give back by volunteering at three (3) OGF events during the following year.

- Performance in the panel interview
- Timely submission of all required documents
