Scholarship Sponsored by Junior Girls' Golf Scholarship Foundation
Introduction
The Junior Girls' Golf Scholarship Foundation (JGGSF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit established to award scholarship funds to Florida women who plan to attend college or university and who have demonstrated an interest in golf.
Purpose and Awards
Applications submitted to the JGGSF will be considered for the following named scholarships and any additional one-time awards the Board may authorize in a given year:
- Sarah E. Huneycutt Scholarship
- Peg & Bill Roberts Scholarship
- Larry Flynn Memorial Scholarship
- Marcia Mileti Scholarship
- Peggy Brass Scholarship
How applications are evaluated
All applications are first reviewed by the JGGSF Board. Some applicants will be invited to a personal interview, which may be conducted by phone, video conferencing, or in person at the interviewer’s discretion. Following that stage, a subset of candidates may be asked to attend a final, in-person interview with the Scholarship Selection Committee. After completing the interview process, the Board together with the Selection Committee will choose the recipients for that year’s awards.
Who should apply
To be eligible, applicants must meet all of the following:
- Be a current Florida high school senior.
- Be a resident of Florida.
- Have been accepted to, or be in the process of applying to, an accredited college or university. (Note: applicants for the Sarah E. Huneycutt Scholarship must be applying to a Florida college or university.)
- Demonstrate an interest in golf but not be a recipient of a collegiate golf scholarship.
- For multi-year awards, maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA to keep the scholarship.
