Overview
The Oklahoma Society of Land Surveyors (OSLS) Scholarship offers financial support to individuals pursuing a career as a Registered Professional Land Surveyor.
Purpose
To raise awareness of the land surveying profession and to encourage entry into the field by highlighting its professionalism, high standards, and integrity.
Scholarship details
Awards will be given to applicants who have demonstrated achievement and talent in leadership, community citizenship, and a genuine interest in land surveying. The dollar amount of each scholarship will vary and depends on the number of qualified applicants.
Eligibility
Applicants must meet the requirements for one of the two categories below and fulfill all listed conditions for that category. In both categories, applicants must be current Associate or Student members of the Oklahoma Society of Land Surveyors.
Option A — High school graduates entering college
- Minimum cumulative GPA: 2.5 or higher
- Current Associate or Student member of the Oklahoma Society of Land Surveyors
- Resident of the state of Oklahoma
Option B — Individuals working under a Professional Land Surveyor toward registration
- Must be working under the supervision of a Licensed Professional Land Surveyor and pursuing registration
- Recommendation required from a Licensed Professional Land Surveyor
- Current Associate or Student member of the Oklahoma Society of Land Surveyors
- Demonstrated strong background in mathematics
(Eligibility note: Associate or Student membership in OSLS is required for all applicants.)
