Charlotte and Ed Rodgers Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Alabama Road Builders Association
In 1978, the Alabama Road Builders Association initiated the Charlotte and Ed Rodgers Scholarship Fund with the aim of fostering exceptional performance in Alabama's transportation construction sector. The fund has been consistently providing annual grants to students who have shown outstanding academic performance in pre-engineering studies since its establishment.
Full-time civil engineering students who have successfully completed their sophomore year, maintained a satisfactory GPA, and are in good academic standing with their university are eligible to apply for the scholarship.
The scholarship awards are based on a student's achievements in student, community, honorary or service organizations, academic excellence, and proven leadership skills.
A panel of trustees, comprising members of the Alabama Road Builders Association and faculty members from the Civil Engineering Departments at Auburn University, The University of Alabama, and The University of South Alabama, review all applications. Typically, the trustees grant five or six scholarships, each worth $2,000.
Students interested in applying for the scholarship should fill out the application form and submit it to the Alabama Road Builders Association. Additional application forms can be procured from the Civil Engineering Departments at Auburn University and the University of Alabama. The application deadline is September 15th, and successful applicants will be notified towards the end of September.
