Introduction
Hampton Roads Pride is dedicated to making a meaningful difference for members of our community. We are excited to announce that during PrideFest in June 2026 we will be distributing scholarships with a total award pool of up to $40,000.

Overview of the scholarships
These awards are merit-based and will be evaluated on academic performance and community involvement. The program supports those who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, or Questioning (LGBTQ+), and members of related identities (including, but not limited to, Intersex, Asexual, Pansexual, Two-spirit, Nonbinary, Agender, and Genderqueer). LGBTQ+ allies — people who do not identify as LGBTQ+ but actively support and stand with the LGBTQ+ community — are welcome to apply as well.

Award distribution and recognition
Scholarship funds will be paid directly to each recipient’s educational institution in June. Recipients are expected to attend PrideFest to be publicly recognized for their achievement. Award notifications will be sent by email. Due to the volume of applications, applicants who are not selected may not receive a notice.

Terms & Conditions

Reward:
Hampton Roads Pride will award scholarships totaling up to $30,000 to qualified applicants. The precise amount awarded to each recipient will depend on the number of selected recipients and the funds available.

Eligibility:
- Identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, or Questioning (LGBTQ+).
- LGBTQ+ allies are also encouraged to apply (those who do not identify as LGBTQ+ but who support and ally with the LGBTQ+ community).
- Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Applicants must live in the Commonwealth of Virginia in one of the following localities. (Now including Richmond and its surrounding cities!)
