Overview The Advancing Futures Dental Scholarship supports SNDA student members who are in their second, third, or fourth year of dental school. Recipients are expected to be in good academic standing, actively involved in both coursework and extracurricular activities, demonstrate notable character, and show concern for the welfare of classmates, patients, and the wider community. Who is eligible - Must be a current, active member of the Student National Dental Association (local or national), with documentation of membership. - Enrolled as a 2nd-, 3rd-, or 4th-year dental student at a U.S. dental school accredited by the ADA/CODA and in good academic standing. - U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident. - Demonstrated financial need. - Record of community service and participation in extracurricular activities. - Demonstrates exemplary character and concern for classmates, patients, and the broader community. Notification requirement for awardees Within 30 days of being notified that they have been selected, scholarship recipients must provide a short written quotation and a 30-second video message of appreciation. The organization may feature these materials on the NDAF website and other publications. Application materials (required) Applicants must submit all of the following: - Official dental school transcript. - Curriculum vitae (CV). - Professional headshot or portrait photo. - A cover letter requesting consideration that outlines research experience and notable academic/professional accomplishments. - A statement from the SNDA president (local or national) confirming current membership. - Two letters of recommendation: - One letter must come from a Faculty Advisor or the Dean of Student Affairs. - Letters from family members, relatives, or fellow students will not be accepted. - A completed Photo and Video Release Form. Note: Incomplete applications or materials that do not meet the requirements above may be disqualified.
