Montana Life Members Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Montana Federation of Garden Clubs
Introduction
The Montana Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc. offers an annual scholarship of $2,000 to a U.S. citizen who is a resident of Montana and is pursuing studies in conservation- or horticulture-related fields. Eligible majors include, but are not limited to, Conservation, Horticulture, Parks or Forestry, Floriculture, Greenhouse Management, Land Management, or closely related subjects. Students enrolled at any campus within the Montana University System that provides these programs may apply.
Eligibility
- Must be a Montana resident and a citizen of the United States.
- Must be currently attending a Montana college or university.
- Must have completed the number of credits required to be classified as a sophomore.
- Applicants who have resources that cover their complete cost of attendance (CCOA) are ineligible.
- Minimum cumulative grade point average: 2.7.
- Must be majoring in a field that contributes to the advancement of horticulture or a closely related area.
Application materials (required)
- Full name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- Official or unofficial college transcript.
- A letter of application that includes a brief autobiography and a description of your future plans.
Additional instructions and timeline
- Keep the application concise — do not be overly wordy.
- All materials should be typed and double-spaced.
- Applications must be received by May 1.
- The recipient will be notified in late May, and the scholarship will be presented at the Montana Federation of Garden Clubs’ State Convention in June.
