Overview
Since 1988, the Chapter has awarded nearly $1.6 million in scholarships—disbursed as 669 individual awards—to college students from New York State who are pursuing degrees in construction or construction-related engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical). Scholarship amounts range from $2,500 to $5,000 and recipients are selected each July.
Eligibility
- Must be a resident of New York State (attendance at an out-of-state college is permitted).
- Undergraduate applicants must be entering the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of a two- or four-year program.
- Must be pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in construction or a construction-related engineering field (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical).
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50.
- Applicants must demonstrate a sincere commitment to a career in the building, highway, or utility construction industry.
- Undergraduate students may reapply annually for up to three years of undergraduate study; many recipients receive awards in multiple years.
- Graduate students enrolled full-time in an advanced construction-related program and planning a career in the industry are eligible for a one-year scholarship.

- Applications must be submitted by the first Friday in May.
