Overview
There is one application form used for all scholarships administered by JSSA on behalf of generous donors and the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington. These awards are intended for students whose permanent residence is in Montgomery County, Maryland; Fairfax County, Virginia; or the District of Columbia. Scholarship funds may be applied only to tuition charges. Be sure to fill out the entire application. If you have questions, email scholarships@jssa.org.
Eligibility
- Permanent address must be in Montgomery County (MD), Fairfax County (VA), or the District of Columbia.
- Awards are restricted to tuition expenses only.
Application requirements and file naming
- Only fully completed applications will be considered.
- When uploading documents, begin each file name with your initials. Example: John Doe’s resume should be named JD_Resume.
Review schedule and submission guidance
- All eligible, complete applications will be reviewed after the deadline, beginning Monday, May 18, 2026. Incomplete submissions will not be reviewed, so please do not submit the form until every required section and document are finished.
2026–2027 FAFSA guidance
- If you plan to complete the 2026–2027 FAFSA, please submit your FAFSA first and obtain the SAI Submission Report before turning in this scholarship application. The FAFSA is not mandatory for applying, but the Scholarship Committee relies on FAFSA information when evaluating applications, so we strongly encourage eligible applicants to include the SAI Submission Report.
- Noncitizens should also complete the FAFSA and indicate “No, I am not a citizen or eligible noncitizen.” While that status precludes federal aid, the FAFSA can still be useful for state and private scholarship consideration, including these awards.
