The scholarship amount awarded to each recipient varies, depending on the donations received by the Foundation and the number of approved applicants. Typically, the scholarship ranges from $500 to $1,500 per recipient for a single semester. We encourage recipients to reapply for additional financial aid for each new semester.
The application period for the Fall semester runs from September 1st to February 28th, while for the Spring semester, it is from March 1st to August 31st. We usually notify the recipients in June and December, respectively. Applicants may be required to provide supporting documents such as recent report cards, proof of school enrollment, college applications, and so on. The Foundation officers review all applications to determine which candidates would benefit the most from the financial aid. The final approval is given by our board.
The basic eligibility criteria for our scholarship program are as follows:
- The applicant must have lost one or both parents.
- The applicant must have resided in a county within the greater DFW area prior to pursuing further education.
- The applicant must be a high school senior or a current student at a college or trade school.
- The applicant must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher on their most recent report card.
