Veterans Make Great STEM Teachers

Overview
Veterans who are either enrolled as undergraduate or graduate students preparing to become Technology and Engineering teachers, or who are currently teaching Technology and Engineering with five or fewer years of experience, are invited to apply. This award recognizes individuals who have served in the military and are now dedicated to educating our students.
Eligibility and Requirements
- Current ITEEA membership is required.
- Applicants must be either:
- Enrolled at a nationally accredited institution of higher education and pursuing a technology and engineering teacher education degree, or
- A practicing technology and engineering teacher with five or fewer years of classroom experience.
- Current or prior service in the U.S. Armed Forces — proof of military status must be submitted.
- Minimum GPA: 3.0.
- A complete application package must be submitted.

- Self-nominations are welcome.
- Typically, only one recipient is chosen per awards cycle.
- If an applicant is not selected, they may request that their application be considered in the next awards cycle; materials will not be carried forward automatically without such a request.
