Introduction
The Farm Credit Foundation for Agricultural Advancement is awarding scholarships to students pursuing careers in agriculture. Eligible applicants include high school seniors and students currently enrolled in two- or four‑year postsecondary programs who intend to work in the agricultural sector — this can include careers beyond farming such as food science, veterinary medicine, agricultural education, or roles like a Farm Credit loan officer. Recipients may be granted this scholarship up to four times.
Who is eligible
- Academic status: High school seniors or students already enrolled in a two‑ or four‑year college program who plan to pursue an agricultural career.
- Residency: Applicants must live within Horizon Farm Credit’s service area, which includes:
- Delaware
- Maryland: Baltimore, Carroll, Caroline, Cecil, Dorchester, Frederick, Harford, Howard, Kent, Montgomery, Queen Anne’s, Somerset, Talbot, Washington, Wicomico, Worcester counties
- Pennsylvania
- Virginia: Accomack, Clarke, Frederick, Northampton, Page, Shenandoah, Warren counties
- West Virginia: Berkeley, Brooke, Hancock, Jefferson, Marshall, Morgan, Ohio counties
- Washington, D.C.
Award details
For 2026, the Foundation will distribute at least $350,000 in scholarships, with individual awards worth as much as $10,000.
