Overview
Scholarship America® — the country’s largest developer and administrator of scholarship and educational support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals — manages this program. Eligibility for each award is set by the sponsor and all qualifying applications are evaluated by Scholarship America’s review team.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the Military Benefit Association Scholarship Program, applicants must meet all of the following:
- Be a high school senior, high school graduate, or GED recipient who intends to enroll, or be already enrolled, full time in an undergraduate program at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year. Enrollment must begin no later than the fall semester of the year the award is given.
- Hold a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).
- Have an applicant sponsor who is a member of the Military Benefit Association as of November 1, 2025.
Additionally, applicants must fall into one of these categories:
- Dependent child of an Military Benefit Association member and under age 26 on the application deadline.
- Spouse member or dependent spouse of an Military Benefit Association member.
- National Guardsman or Reservist who is a Military Benefit Association member.
- Veteran who has been separated from service by the application deadline and is a Military Benefit Association member.
Awards
- Each selected student will receive a $3,000 scholarship.
- Up to thirty (30) scholarships will be awarded.
- Awards are for undergraduate study only.
- Awards are not automatically renewable; however, eligible students may apply again in subsequent years.
- A recipient may receive the scholarship for no more than two years total.
How Recipients Are Chosen
Scholarship America selects recipients based on the following factors:
- Academic achievement
- Leadership and involvement in school and community activities
- Work experience
- A written statement outlining educational and career goals
- Unusual personal or family circumstances
- One online recommendation submitted on the applicant’s behalf
Financial need is not considered in the selection process. The Military Benefit Association has no role in choosing recipients; Scholarship America makes all final decisions and all applicants agree to accept those decisions as final.
Application Materials and Deadlines
You must upload the following as part of your application:
- A current, official transcript that shows:
- Student name
- School name
- Course grades
- Credit hours for each course and for each term in which the course was taken
(Grade reports are not acceptable.)
NOTE: If you are including SAT or ACT scores and they do not appear on your high school transcript, you must upload an official copy of your test score report(s). SAT/ACT scores are not required if you are submitting a college transcript.
One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf by March 3, 2026, 3:00 PM Central Time.
