Experimental Aircraft Association Scholarships
Scholarship Sponsored by Experimental Aircraft Association
Introduction
If you aspire to become a pilot or add a new rating, EAA can help turn that goal into reality. The EAA Aviation Foundation’s scholarship programs are funded by dozens of donors, benefactors, and supporters who “pay it forward” by endowing these awards.
Key dates
- Application window: October 1 – December 19, 2025
- Award notifications: March 2, 2026
About the awards
Thanks to generous supporters, the EAA Aviation Foundation provides more than $135,000 in flight-training scholarships each year. This funding enabled 31 students to advance their aviation training during the most recent award cycle.
How applications work
You submit a single application that will be considered for every scholarship for which you meet the eligibility and criteria. Each application is evaluated against the specific requirements of individual scholarships, and awards are granted to applicants who demonstrate the strongest potential to remain actively involved in aviation.
Selection priorities and what strengthens your application
- We seek well-rounded candidates who demonstrate a genuine passion for aviation and participation in both aviation-related and other clubs, organizations, or activities.
- Volunteer experience — whether with aviation groups or community organizations — is viewed favorably by the selection committee.
- While not mandatory, preference is given to applicants who are EAA members or belong to a local EAA chapter.
- Minimum academic requirement: a 2.5 GPA is required to apply. Individual scholarships may impose higher GPA thresholds.
Eligibility
Applicants must be either citizens or residents of the United States or Canada, or have valid authorization to work or study in the United States or Canada (for example, via an appropriate visa).
If you’d like, I can help you prepare your application, review your essays, or outline volunteer and activities to highlight.
