National Beta Scholarships

Overview
The National Beta Scholarship Program helps members pursue higher education by providing financial awards. Each year the program distributes more than $300,000 in scholarships to 260 active Senior Beta members in 12th grade.
Eligibility
To be considered, students must be active 12th-grade Senior Beta members.
How to apply
- The application portal opens on November 3, 2025.
- Applicants will need their National Beta membership ID number and last name to access the online application.
- If a student does not have those details, they should contact their school’s National Beta Sponsor or email the National Office and provide their full name, school, and state to request assistance.
- Applicants must upload their high school transcript and ACT/SAT scores directly to the application. Uploaded documents (including screenshots of test scores) will be checked for authenticity. Transcripts may be official or unofficial.
Deadline
All completed applications must be submitted by 11:59 PM EST on January 15, 2026.
Phase 1 — Initial application requirements
Eligible 12th-grade Senior Beta members must complete the online application, which includes:
- Contact information
- Academic information:
- Unweighted GPA
- ACT or SAT scores (uploaded for verification)
- High school transcript (official or unofficial)
- Club activity information:
- National Beta events attended
- Leadership positions and National Beta awards
- Service hours broken down by project and the student’s role for each project
- Resume details:
- Other extracurricular activities
- Service hours not associated with National Beta
- Awards and honors earned outside of National Beta
Results and notifications from Phase 1
Applicants who receive scholarships of $1,000 or more will be notified by email. Scholarship recipients’ names will also be published on the National Beta website and on National Beta social media channels. Decisions about semifinalist selection are final and cannot be appealed. The National Office does not provide individual feedback on applications.
Phase 2 — Materials for semifinalists
The top 100 semifinalists from Phase 1 will be invited to submit additional materials to be considered for the ten highest-value awards (one $20,000, one $15,000, one $10,000, one $8,000, one $6,000, and five $2,500 awards). Required items for semifinalists include:
- One sponsor recommendation that addresses why the student merits a National Beta scholarship
- One to three candidate evaluations that assess the student’s character, leadership, service involvement, and academic strengths
- Two student essays
- Work history, if applicable
