Intro
The Harrisburg branch of the American Association of University Women is offering five scholarships to support women from Central Pennsylvania who will be enrolled in the 2025–2026 academic year. Applicants must meet the specific criteria listed for each award and attend an accredited college or university in Pennsylvania.
General eligibility
- Residence: Applicants must live in Cumberland County, Dauphin County, Perry County, or the Northern York School District.
- Institution: Must be enrolled at an accredited Pennsylvania college or university.
- Financial need: All awards require demonstration of financial need.

Available awards
1) Beverly J. Smith Memorial Scholarship — $2,500
- For: A female resident of Cumberland, Dauphin, Perry County, or Northern York School District pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
- Academic standing: Minimum 3.40 GPA.
- Credits completed: At least 60 college credits.
- Enrollment: Full-time student status for the 2025–2026 academic year.

2) Member Memorial Scholarships — two awards of $1,500 each
- For: Two female residents of Cumberland, Dauphin, Perry County, or Northern York School District working toward an associate or bachelor’s degree.
- Academic standing: Minimum 3.00 GPA.
- Credits completed: At least 15 college credits.
- Enrollment: At least half-time (minimum 6 credits per term) for the 2025–2026 academic year.
- Note: The second $1,500 award this year is funded by a gift from community activist and philanthropist Peggy Grove in memory of Mary Lou McDowell, a beloved past president and member of the Harrisburg branch.

3) Ronald D. and Kathleen A. Krausse STEM Scholarship — $1,500
- For: A female resident of Cumberland, Dauphin, Perry County, or Northern York School District pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
- Academic standing: Minimum 3.00 GPA.
- Credits completed: At least 30 college credits.
- Enrollment: Full-time student status for the 2025–2026 academic year.

4) Sally C. Chamberlain Scholarship — $1,500
- For: A female resident of Cumberland, Dauphin, Perry County, or Northern York School District who is resuming or renewing academic coursework for credit to pursue career employment or advancement (for example, students returning after an interruption in their post‑secondary education).
- Academic standing: Minimum 2.9 GPA.
- Credits completed: At least 15 college credits toward an associate or bachelor’s degree.
- Enrollment: At least half-time (minimum 6 credits per term) at a Pennsylvania college or university for the 2025–2026 academic year.
