Introduction
Energy Southeast will offer scholarships to qualified Alabama students whose parent or legal guardian receives electric service from an Energy Southeast Member utility. Awards are intended for graduating high school seniors who plan to enroll in an accredited four-year college or university, community college, or vocational/trade school located in Alabama.
Availability and Award Amount
A total of 44 scholarships will be awarded, each in the amount of $2,500.
Eligibility
- Applicant must be a graduating high school senior.
- The student must be a dependent of a parent and/or legal guardian who is an electric customer of an Energy Southeast Member city/utility at the time the application is submitted and through the student’s high school graduation.
- The student must plan to attend an eligible institution in the state of Alabama (four-year college/university, community college, or vocational/trade school).
Required Application Materials
Please include the following with your application:
1. Official high school transcript.
2. Official ACT or SAT score certificate. If submitting a photocopy, the copy must be signed by a school counselor.
3. A resume summarizing school extracurricular activities, church involvement, community service, work history, and/or volunteer activities you wish to have considered.
4. Two (2) letters of recommendation (letters from relatives will not be accepted).
Application Submission and Deadlines
- Complete and sign the application. The application must be signed by both the applicant and the applicant’s parent or legal guardian; an application missing either signature will be considered incomplete and will not be reviewed.

- The application packet must be postmarked no later than Monday, February 9, 2026. Applications that are incomplete or not submitted in the requested format by the deadline will be disqualified and not considered.
Scholarship Terms and Use
- Scholarships will be paid directly to the educational institution and credited to the student’s account.
- Funds must be used within 16 months of the student’s high school graduation.
- Award recipients will be announced and scholarships distributed in the spring.
- By submitting the application and required attachments, both the applicant and the parent/legal guardian certify that all information provided is true and agree to abide by these scholarship conditions.

Incomplete applications (including missing attachments or signatures) will be disqualified.
