Tall Clubs International Scholarship

Scholarship Sponsored by Tall Clubs International

Value: $1,000.00
Awards Available: 9
Deadline : Mar 01, 2026

Overview
In honor of Kae Sumner-Einfeldt, Virginia Linquist-Winker, Robert Rader, Carolyn Goldstein, and Charles & Doris Chickering, the Tall Clubs International Foundation (TCIF) awards annual scholarships to qualified high school seniors living in North America (United States and Canada only). Nominations are made by Tall Clubs International’s local member clubs and Members‑At‑Large (MALs) across North America. Recipients are chosen from those nominations and will receive at least a $1,000 scholarship from the Tall Clubs International Foundation, Inc. (Membership in a local tall club is NOT required to be nominated or to receive an award.)

Eligibility requirements
All applicants must satisfy every item below to be considered:

- Height: Meet TCI membership minimums in stocking feet — women: 5′10″ (178 cm); men: 6′2″ (188 cm). TCIF and TCI may request an official measurement of an applicant’s height.
- Age/Status: Be a high school senior, under 21 years of age, and planning to begin your first year of post‑secondary study.
- Enrollment timeframe: Intend to enroll full‑time for the first year at an accredited U.S. or Canadian post‑secondary institution within the current calendar year.
- Acceptable institutions: Applicants must be enrolled in or accepted to an accredited college, university, trade, technical, career, or other post‑secondary school that awards degrees, certificates, or other recognized credentials. Institutional accreditation and any required state/provincial authorization must be from a recognized accrediting body, consistent with U.S. Department of Education and Canada (EduCanada) standards.
- Use of funds: Any scholarship funds awarded must be used to attend the accredited institution stated in the application.
- General release: Selected scholarship winners are required to sign a general release permitting the Tall Clubs International Foundation and the sponsoring TCI member club or MAL to publish the recipient’s name (first name and last initial) on related websites for recognition and outreach. A blank General Release form is available here: General Release Form (Blank).
- Residency/Sponsorship: Applicants must request sponsorship from an active TCI member club or a participating Member‑At‑Large in the applicant’s state or province of residence. Students from U.S. military or diplomatic families living overseas (OCONUS) should apply using their official U.S. state of residence.

Additional notes and limits
- Geographic scope: Scholarships are awarded only to residents of the United States and Canada.
- Application submission: Sending your scholarship application to the appropriate sponsoring club or MAL constitutes a formal request for their sponsorship; it is not necessary to contact the sponsor beforehand.
- Accreditation verification: Institutional accreditation is required for eligibility. Our accreditation definition follows Department of Education and IRS guidance. For verification resources, see the U.S. Department of Education, EduCanada, or search accredited schools such as: Search Accredited Schools – ACCSC.

State/Province-specific instructions
- California: There are six TCI clubs in California. Select the club that corresponds to the county where you reside.
- Canada: Three TCI clubs serve Canada. Choose the club that is correct for or closest to your province of residence.
- New York: Three clubs operate in New York State. Select the club appropriate to your county of residence.
- Washington, D.C.: Choose the “District of Columbia” option in the Member Tall Clubs list.
- Wisconsin: Residents should select based on region — West Wisconsin applicants choose “Mad Town Talls”; East Wisconsin applicants choose “Tall Club of Milwaukee.”
