Delta Air Lines Engineering Scholarship

In order to be eligible for a scholarship, the candidate must be an existing member of WAI (excluding Junior Members between the ages of 5-15) until at least March 30, 2026, or become a new member by October 1, 2025.
WAI must receive all applications by October 15, 2025, and the scholarship recipients will be informed by December 15, 2025.
WAI does not take into account race, ethnicity, or gender when awarding scholarships.
WAI General Scholarship Application Guidelines
The application period for the 2026 general WAI scholarship program is from July 15 to October 15, 2025. Only existing members of Women in Aviation International are eligible to apply. Applicants may apply for a maximum of three scholarships. The final date to submit an application for the general WAI scholarships is October 15, 2025.
Applications for scholarships are only accepted via the online portal on the WAI website. Please refrain from mailing or emailing physical copies of your scholarship application.
All applicants are required to submit the following:
- Two recommendation letters. Each letter should not exceed one page and must not be from family members.
- A 500-word essay detailing your enthusiasm for aviation or aerospace, your community involvement, and how this scholarship will assist you in achieving your aviation or aerospace goals.
- A resume (not exceeding two pages). Please do not include a photograph of yourself on your resume.
- If you are applying for a flight training scholarship, please include copies of your pilot and medical certificates and the last three pages of your pilot logbook. This is not required for other scholarship types.
- Any additional information requested for each specific award/grant/scholarship
These are the basic requirements for all scholarships unless stated otherwise. Please ensure you read the description carefully to confirm you meet all the requirements.
Your essay should contain the following:
- Your full name and contact details
- Your enthusiasm for aviation or aerospace
- Your community involvement
- How the scholarship will assist you in achieving your goals
- Any additional information requested for each specific scholarship
Your resume should contain the following:
- Employment history or academic studies
- Any educational awards or honors received
- Evidence of involvement in aviation-related activities
- Certificates already obtained, date, and completed flight hours (only if applying for a flight training scholarship.)
All applicants must be existing WAI members with a membership expiration date of March 31, 2026 or later, or become a WAI member by October 1, 2025.
