Each year, NMASBO grants as many as six scholarships, each worth $1,500, to exceptional high school seniors throughout New Mexico. A minimum of one scholarship recipient is chosen from each region. MERCK Animal Health Veterinary Student Scholarship

Over the past few years, Merck has collaborated with the AVMF to offer scholarships to almost 400 veterinary students. Many of these students have since emerged as young leaders in the veterinary profession.
Qualification Requirements
Must be a 2nd or 3rd-year veterinary student in good standing at a school accredited by the AVMA, located in the United States, Canada, or the Caribbean.
Must exhibit academic distinction
Must be actively involved in university-associated organizations, including holding leadership roles
Must show leadership and active participation in activities outside the university
Must demonstrate financial need
Over the past few years, Merck has collaborated with the AVMF to offer scholarships to almost 400 veterinary students. Many of these students have since emerged as young leaders in the veterinary profession.
